When you run InstallSpy for the first time it will check that you are using a supported operating system, e.g. Windows XP. If you are not then you will see an error message telling you so. If your operating system is supported, then you will see this dialog box:
After clicking OK, you are given the chance to change the program settings:
For more information on these settings, see the Configuration section. Basically, these settings define what changes to your computer InstallSpy will record. Although it may be tempting to record everything it is recommended that you use the default settings, otherwise you will be overwhelmed with information.
Click OK to save these settings and proceed to part 2 of this tutorial.
